Centennial and Landmark Conferences Football Officials Guest Speaker
Ms. Katie Boldvich
-
Katie Boldvich was hired as the third Commissioner of the Landmark Conference in July 2019. She has vast experience in the realm of sport having worked with professional teams and leagues, national-governing bodies, emerging sports for women, institutions and conferences. Boldvich is an unwavering supporter of Division III athletics as a student-athlete, coach and administrator.
-
As the Commissioner of the Landmark, Boldvich serves as the chief operating officer and works with the presidents, athletics administrators and coaches in strategic planning and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the conference. She is charged with upholding and promoting the Landmark’s mission and core values while also enforcing the best practices and policies of the conference and NCAA. She also coordinates the logistics and operations for the conference’s 22 championships, special events and professional development opportunities for the membership.
-
Boldvich also serves as the Commissioner of three single-sport conferences; the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC), Colonial Hockey Conference and Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC). She established the formation of both the NEHC and Colonial Hockey Conference in 2015. All three leagues have had strategic membership growth, policy revision, rebrands and new website designs during her tenure. Both the NEHC and ECFC secured incorporation and 501c(3) tax-exempt status under her guidance.
-
Prior to joining the Landmark, Boldvich served in the same role with the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC). While with the NECC, she reestablished the conference’s mission and core values to better align with the action and focus of the membership. She also led the charge in the conference rebrand, the first for the league since its inception in 2009, that heavily focused on the resilience and diversity of the league. Additionally, she championed expansion and playing opportunities for the membership, adding 10 associate members across three different conference sports and securing additional regular and postseason playing opportunities for the league’s student-athletes.
-
Boldvich has also served in senior leadership roles with the United States Rowing Association, National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). She continues to serve as the Executive Director for the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) where she coordinates the logistics and operations of one of the oldest championship events in college sports. The IRA National Championship held its 117th regatta in 2019, welcoming 50 rowing programs across three disciplines and over 1,000 student-athletes. Boldvich is responsible for the operating budget, securing vendors and championship enhancement development for the event.
-
She has also lent her expertise to several committees and special events over the course of her career. Most recently, Boldvich served on the NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey National Committee from 2016-2019 and acted as the committee’s Chair in 2017 & 2018. She is also an active member of the Division III Commissioner’s Association, New England Commissioner’s Association and Mid-Atlantic Regional Commissioner’s Association. She also served on the senior planning team for the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Frozen Four; coordinating and training over 200 volunteers and staff members for the event’s operations.
-
Prior to her career in collegiate athletics she held various positions in the world of sports-television programming. Boldvich worked for such clients as the Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, Major League Soccer, UEFA Champions League, World Surf League, U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association, X-Games and more.
-
Boldvich graduated magna cum laude from Emerson College in 2008. While at Emerson she competed as a two-sport student-athlete in soccer and softball. A four-year starter and captain in both sports, she was also a member of the Lions 2007 softball program which secured the institution’s first bid and subsequent win in the NCAA postseason in any sport.
